BOB CHILCOTT is back!

On Saturday, March 6 the Cantabile Choirs’ fourteenth season, “Living Colours of Song” continues with “White Waves on the Water” featuring the Cantabile Girls’ Choir, Young Men’s Chorus, Youth Singers, Men’s Chorus, and Women’s Chorus and guest composer/conductor Bob Chilcott

Bob Chilcott is one of the most sought-after and celebrated composers and conductors in Britain today. He has been involved in choral music most of his life - he was a chorister in the choir of King's College, Cambridge, and a member of the British vocal group The King's Singers, the most recorded and broadcast vocal ensemble in history.  Since becoming a professional composer in 1997 he has had over 100 works published by Oxford University Press.

The concert features the world premiere of ‘Dream Land’ by Mr. Chilcott commissioned by the Cantabile Choirs.  Several other of Chilcott’s memorable works will be highlighted on the concert, including ‘Making Waves’ a stereophonic exploration of sound with choristers mimicking the sounds of Marconi’s historic transatlantic telegraph signal.

Tickets are available at the Grand Theatre Box Office – in person at 218 Princess Street – by phone (613) 530-2050 – or online www.kingstongrand.com
